To Practice physiotherapy in India or Karnataka state, a person shall be qualified either any of the qualification as listed here- 1. Diploma in Physiotherapy (Minimum of 3 years duration course) 2. Bachelor level in Physiotherapy ( minimum 3 and half years duration course) and 3. Master of Physiotherapy ( Minimum 2 years duration course) as a basic qualification on full time regular course from a recognised University. As per UGC.

Note: Any kind of education/Courses like: -Certificate in Physiotherapy or Vocational course in Physiotherapy or distance education/ Correspondence course in Physiotherapy degree is not a vaild course.

Selection Process:

1. Eligibility: Only for karnataka students who secured with minimum 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology marks in 10+2 exam.

2. Merit ranking will be given based on PCB%. Not based on NEET, CET or any other exams.

3. Applicable for selection of Government seats in all the affiliated Physiotherapy colleges under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. Click here to view the list and under state private universities.

4. The last year Government fees structure was Rs.8250/- per year.

5. The 20 % of seats of each Physiotherapy college affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and under state private universities are reserved for Government Quota seats.

ADMISSION TO BACHELOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (BPT) COURSE UNDER RGUHS AFFILIATED COLLEGES

ELGIBILITY:

1.1 Qualifying Examination

A Candidate seeking admission to first year Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT):
i) Should have passed two year Pre University examination conducted by Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State, with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually also.
OR
ii) Shall have passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate examination established by State Government/Central Government and recognized as equivalent to a two year Pre University Examination by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences/ Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually also.
OR
iii)Candidates who have completed Pre-university course with Vocational Physiotherapy as their optional subject are eligible for admission to BPT course.

1.2 Marks

The selection of students to a course of Physiotherapy shall be based on merit provided that: a). In case of admission on the basis of qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to BPT course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained not less than 40% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in qualifying examination is not less than 35% instead of 40% as above.

1.3 Age:

A candidate seeking admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy course should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Every candidate before admission to the course shall furnish to Principal of the Institution a certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Government Medical Officer to the effect, that the candidate is physically fit to undergo Physiotherapy course.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE TO JOIN BPT under Government Seat in all the colleges:

ADMISSION TO MASTER OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (MPT) COURSE IN RGUHS AFFLIATED COLLEGES

ELGIBILITY:

Candidates who have passed B.Sc. (PT) or BPT degree from institutions where the mode of study is a full time program, with minimum 3½ years / 4 ½ years duration from this university or any other university in India or abroad as equivalent with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate and have completed 6 months of compulsory rotating internship in Physiotherapy Colleges recognized by RGUHS - Karnataka are eligible. Candidates who have passed BPT through correspondence or Distance Education program are not eligible.
OR
Candidates who have passed BPT through Bridge Course or through Lateral Entry after completing their Diploma in Physiotherapy from institutions where the mode of study is a full time program from this university or any other university in India or abroad as equivalent with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate and have completed 6 months of compulsory rotating internship in Physiotherapy Colleges recognized by RGUHS - Karnataka are eligible.
